About IAM Local Lodge 470
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, better know as the IAM, has been representing working people since 1888. The IAM has a proud tradition of fighting for workers rights. The IAM represents workers in manufacturing, transportation, and aerospace industries. The recent attacks on workers rights, by some members of government and big industry, underscores the need for a union like the IAM. Local Lodge 470 is fully engaged with its membership on a daily basis to make sure members are treated with respect and dignity in the workplace.
IAM Local Lodge 470 is part of IAM District 161. There are seven other local lodges in district 161. District offices are located at same location as LL470. Our current Business Rep. is Craig Martin. Local 470 represents the hourly operations, maintenance, and shipping employees at PPG Industries Lake Charles. We have approximately 700 dues paying members in our local. If you are not a member we encourage you to join because strength comes with numbers.
